Position Description

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the organization and administration of the Department of Nursing and Nurse Supervisors; plans, organizes, directs, evaluates, and controls department functions and activities (internal and external); establishes goals, objectives, and standards of practice; develops operating policies and procedures; interprets hospital policies, standards, and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff and the general public; serves as the Regulatory Agency Liaison.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing required. Master's Degree or Doctorate in nursing or related field preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing management/administrative experience and 7 years of professional nursing experience

Licensure/Certification:

Must have current or be eligible for Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the state of West Virginia
American Nursing Association certification in Nursing Administration is preferred
