Preceptorship Description
Ramesh (Ram) Upadhyaya has almost 30 years of experience in health care, beginning with his first position out of high school as a combat medic in the U.S. Army. As a nurse, Ram has experience in hospice, home health, long term care, emergency nursing, critical care nursing, and rehabilitation nursing. Currently, Ram is the Nursing Resource Liaison for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NCDPS), Division of Adult Correction, Health and Wellness. He holds a bachelor's and a master’s degree in Nursing from UNCG, a Master’s in Business Administration from the Bryan School of Business and Economics, and a post-Master’s certificate in Distance Education from Thomas Edison State University. He is board certified as both a Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN) and a Correctional Healthcare Provider (CCHP) . Ram has published articles in journals such as Journal of Rehabilitation Nursing, Advance for Nurses, and Nursing Perspectives.
